Houses of Study

Houses of Study at United equip students for service in the communities, movements and denominations where they serve. Houses support students in several ways: through academic tracks in United’s Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Ministries degree programs; through mutual support in formation groups; and through mentorship from facilitators and spiritual directors in United’s Contextual Ministries program. Houses may also include related non-degree certificates and groups in United’s Doctor of Ministry program. Within a House of Study, you will find support from a House of Study director and fellowship among your peers. In most cases, the House of Study Director mentors the DMin focus group and may teach specialized elective courses in the Master’s tracks, enabling you to learn from an expert in the field.

We invite you to join one of United’s emerging Houses of Study. As Houses are developed and sufficient enrollment is reached, we will launch the new House of Study. This is a great opportunity to be a part of something new. Learn more about how United’s developing Houses of Study can equip you for ministry as you learn from an expert in the field.

The Jabula Luminary House of Study, in partnership with Jabula Worldwide, is for luminaries to be trained and released to fulfill the call of evangelism to bring the Kingdom of God to earth by restoring and protecting the rights of all people.

Houses of Study Scholarship

When God calls you to ministry, finances shouldn’t stand in the way. That’s why United is committed to helping students pursue their calling through a high-quality, affordable education.

If you are considering one of United’s Houses of Study, you may be eligible for the new House of Study Scholarship!*

Award amount: 50% master’s tuition for up to three years in a House of Study.

  • Must enroll in a master’s track in one of United’s Houses of Study
  • Must register for at least 9 hours per semester or 6 hours per trimester
  • 2.5 GPA or higher in previous bachelor’s or graduate degree
  • Essay: 300 words describing why you want to join a House of Study

Scholarships are limited and based on available funds. To apply, please fill out the form below.

If selected for the House of Study scholarship, it cannot be combined with other United scholarships.

However, due to the limited House of Study scholarships available, we encourage you to apply for any United scholarships for which you may be eligible. Contact studentaid@united.edu to learn about available scholarships. Please refer to the Scholarships tab on the United Student Aid page for more information about general scholarship requirements and the application process.

*Due to special tuition rates, students in the Hispanic and Korean Houses of Study are not eligible for the Houses of Study scholarship. Please see the Hispanic and Korean Houses of Study page for more information on special tuition rates.
