Our divinity and ministry programs are designed to make high-quality seminary education accessible for working pastors and other professionals—whenever and wherever is best for your busy schedule. Courses are available through traditional on-campus formats, week-long intensives on campus in Dayton, Ohio, online programs or innovative virtual programs, which meet simultaneously on-campus and online.

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is an advanced professional degree program centered in the practice of ministry. This degree presupposes a Master of Divinity degree followed by at least three years of ministry.

Master of Divinity

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree is for those preparing to enter ministry as ordained religious leaders or professional lay ministers. United’s program meets the requirements for ordination in most major Protestant denominations.

Master of Ministry

The Master of Ministry (MMin) provides a strong foundation in theological education and spiritual formation. The MMin is ideal for those working toward a Doctor of Ministry who first need to achieve the equivalent of a Master of Divinity.

Master of Arts in Christian Ministries

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministries (MACM) equips people for leadership and service in various areas related to the Christian community’s public life and practice.

Master of Theological Studies

The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) degree is designed for persons wishing to pursue the study of religion to increase their religious understanding and their ministerial capacity to serve the Church and community.

Master of Arts

The Master of Arts (MA) is a self-directed degree program that supports wide-ranging interests for study and ministry. The MA is also designed for those who wish to earn a degree while completing Advanced Course of Study.
