Welcome to the United’s Financial Aid Office. We are eager to help you understand our financial aid programs and to assist you in finding ways to meet your seminary costs. Financial Aid at United is based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the school according to federal guidelines. Financial need is defined as the difference between the cost of education and the student’s total financial resources and includes (but is not limited to):
- Scholarships
- Need-based and matching grants
- Federal Work/Study
- Federal Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans
- United Methodist Student Loans
- Denominational Assistance
- Tuition Assistance from United
Deadlines
ATTENTION: Receipt of financial aid one year does not guarantee receipt of financial aid in subsequent years. Students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to be eligible for financial aid.

Processing takes 5 – 7 days
ENTERING STUDENTS
Application for financial aid must be made by entering students at the time of admission.
Fall Semester: June 1
Spring Semester: December 1
CURRENT AND CONTINUING STUDENTS
Students must be enrolled in one of United’s graduate level degree programs or Pre-Doctoral certification program to be eligible for financial aid including scholarships and loans.
