
Holiness: Wesleyan, Pentecostal, and Catholic Perspectives
The Holiness Conference is a one-day, ecumenical, academic conference on the topic of Holiness. Five scholars from Pentecostal, Wesleyan, and Catholic traditions will present papers and participate in a panel conversation on the place of Holiness in their respective traditions and its possibilities for ecumenical dialogue and relationships.
A plenary address will be given by Frank D. Macchia, Associate Director of the Centre for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies at Bangor University and Professor of Christian Theology at Vanguard University.
Other featured speakers include: Cheryl Bridges-Johns (United Theological Seminary), Laura Dahl (Calvin Theological Seminary), Justus Hunter (United Theological Seminary), Alan Mostrom (Mount St. Mary’s Seminary and School of Theology), and Nathan Smith (Glenmary Home Missioners).

Frank D. Macchia is currently Professor of Systematic Theology at Vanguard University of Southern California and Associate Director of the Centre for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies at Bangor University, Wales (UK). He has authored nine books along with numerous articles, professional papers, book chapters, and numerous other contributions to theological dictionaries and encyclopedias. He has lectured widely within and outside of the United States. His most recent books include Jesus the Spirit Baptizer: Christology in Light of Pentecost (Eerdmans, 2018); Introduction to Theology: Declaring the Wonders of God (Baker Academic, 2023); and Tongues of Fire: A Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith (Cascade, 2023). He has pastored in a few different settings including a Chinese/ Taiwanese church in Southern California for more than twenty years.
