TEACHING AND RESEARCH
Scott’s teaching and research are primarily in areas of post-reformation Church history and theology. Particularly, his interests include Pietism, Wesleyan theology and practice, Methodism, Holiness and Pentecostal movements, discipleship, small groups, missional theology and evangelism.

Scott Kisker is an elder in the Iowa Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, and he has served as Senior Pastor of Colesburg United Methodist Church in Colesburg, IA. Prior to coming to United Theological Seminary, he was Professor of History of Christianity at Wesley Theological Seminary as well as Wesley’s Director of the Course of Study Program. Dr. Kisker served as the director of the Charles Wesley Heritage Centre in Bristol, UK and as associate pastor for the American Protestant Church in Bonn, Germany. Dr. Kisker is one of the hosts of “Plain Truth: A Holy-Spirited Podcast,” available on iTunes, Player F.M. and other podcast providers

Scott is married to Roberta Willison Kisker and they have five children: Maria, Susanna, Isaac, Tabitha and Naomi.
