United: Tell us about Daejeon Mustard Seed Church.
Kim: Since its founding in 2005, Daejeon Gyeojassi (Mustard Seed) Church in South Korea has faithfully served both the local community and the global mission field with a strong commitment to education and evangelism. The church has engaged in mission work in Thailand, Myanmar, India, Laos, and other regions. We believe in embodying the Gospel by providing tangible expressions of God’s love, and our mission work has included planting churches, establishing schools and mission centers, providing medical facilities and wells, and constructing communal sanitation facilities. We are blessed to announce that a dedication service for the Leaders Center in Vientiane, Laos, will take place on February 3, 2026.
Domestically, we operate Rivertree School, a Christian alternative school, and support scholarships for overseas seminaries to nurture the next generation of Christian leaders. By serving on the board of the Korea Mission Academy and as a member of the Korea Mission Theological Society, we also participate in preserving the missionary legacy of the Korean church. Looking ahead, Gyeojassi (Mustard Seed) Church in Daejeon will continue to obey the Great Commission by making true disciples and living out the Word of God in action.
What excites you most about giving to the United Theological Seminary Scholarship?
We are most excited about supporting the United Theological Seminary Scholarship because it represents more than financial assistance—it is an opportunity to participate in God’s work of raising faithful leaders for the church. We believe this scholarship is a seed planted in the kingdom of God, which will grow into pastors, teachers, and missionaries who will impact many lives. It is also deeply meaningful to us that the scholarship allows students to focus wholeheartedly on their calling without financial burden.
What role do you believe United plays in raising Christian leaders for the church?
United Theological Seminary plays an essential role in equipping leaders with both theological wisdom and practical pastoral skills. Through rigorous scholarship and spiritual formation, the seminary cultivates not only knowledge but also character and vision. Furthermore, its diverse cultural environment prepares students for cross-cultural ministry. As a result, graduates of United become pastors, teachers, and missionaries who bring transformation to churches and communities while faithfully advancing God’s kingdom. Our church firmly believes that United Theological Seminary is a vital institution for raising the future leaders of the global church.
What impact do you expect this scholarship will have in the future?
We believe this scholarship is a sacred investment in God’s mission that will bear abundant fruit across generations. Recipients will be shaped into disciples who embody humility and courage, bringing revival to churches, communities, and mission fields. Ultimately, this scholarship will serve as a powerful instrument in raising leaders who faithfully proclaim the gospel and advance the kingdom of God.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Our heartfelt prayer is that students of United Theological Seminary will truly come to know and believe in Jesus Christ. Wherever they are called, may they serve as faithful servants of the Lord, proclaiming His Word and bearing witness to the gospel with clarity and truth.
