Korean Spirituality: Prayer and Revival

This focus group will offer pastors and church leaders an opportunity to explore and learn Korean spirituality, particularly the prayer spirituality of the Korean Church. Pastors and church leaders will not only deepen their own personal prayer spirituality as spiritual leaders but also gain a historical understanding of how prayer has played a central and catalytic role in every major revival throughout church history. Through this focus group, pastors and church leaders will be equipped to create and sustain a culture of prayer and to cultivate revival in their own congregations and ministry contexts.

As an optional component, pastors and church leaders will have an opportunity to visit South Korea, where they will experience Korean spirituality firsthand. The immersion trip includes visits to the three largest and most influential Korean churches in the world: Kwanglim Methodist Church (the world’s largest Methodist church), Myungsung Presbyterian Church (the world’s largest Presbyterian church), and Yoido Full Gospel Church (the world’s largest Protestant church), as well as a prayer mountain. These immersive experiences will allow pastors and church leaders to observe, hear, and personally experience the unique Korean Christian spirituality.
