The Certificate in Worship and Leadership (CWL) at United is intended for the cultivation and formation of worship leaders and pastors in the church. In this certificate, students will examine principles of worship to learn how to design and preside over services of Christian worship, as well as what it truly means to be a Worship Leader. The certificate presents opportunities to explore biblical, theological, historical and practical foundations of worship while applying learnings in students’ unique contexts.
The program consists of three online courses, offered year-round. The duration of each course is fourteen weeks. Through this fully online program, students will learn from experienced instructors and connect with a community of students and fellow worship leaders. Upon completion of the program, each student receives a Certificate in Worship and Leadership.
This program is a great foundation for persons who are interested in music leadership, design and the arts or who currently participate in regular worship planning in the local church. A bachelor’s or master’s degree is not a prerequisite. As an added benefit, students will be able to transfer these courses into United’s Certificate in Theology and Ministry (CTM) or Certificate in Service and Leadership (CSL) programs with an Emphasis in Worship Leadership.
Course completion credit is awarded for non-credit (NC) courses.

CWL Program Application is completed online through our MyUnited Applicant Portal.
New Students: If you are a new student to United’s CWL program you must first apply via the CWL Application. After applying and being confirmed you will receive a United email account and credentials to our student portal and instructions on how to proceed with registration. CWL Class Registration is completed through the MyUnited Student Portal.
Returning Students: If you are a returning student then you have already applied to the program and your student information is already in our system. If you have not already received your United email account and student portal credentials, contact the CTM Coordinator at ctm@united.edu and request them to be sent to you.
