Dr. Mark R. Teasdale was elected as President of United Theological Seminary in 2026. He is ordained in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church and has served local congregations for 12 years as a youth pastor, assistant pastor, and solo pastor.

Dr. Teasdale received a BA from The American University, an MDiv and DMin from Wesley Theological Seminary, and a PhD from SMU. For 18 years, he served as E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. He has been a Member of Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education and American Society of Missiology since 2011, serving as Editor of Witness: Journal of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education and as President of the organization from 2017-2021.

Dr. Teasdale has contributed to numerous chapters in books and articles dealing with evangelism, mission, and Methodist studies. He has published several books; his most recent is Socially Awkward Evangelism: Overcoming Fears in Sharing the Gospel, which was released in May 2026.
