Dr. Max Botner to Faculty
Dr. Max Botner to teach New Testament at Dayton, Ohio, seminary

DAYTON, Ohio, May 13, 2026 — United Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Dr. Max Botner will join its faculty as Associate Professor of New Testament, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Botner currently serves as Associate Professor for the School of Theology and Leadership and Director of the Center for Bible Study at Jessup University in Rocklin, California. He has served as a lecturer and researcher in the US, UK and Germany, and is a widely published New Testament scholar. Released in April 2026, his most recent work is How Then Shall We Read? A Student’s Guide to Interpreting the New Testament (Eerdmans, 2026).
Dr. Botner holds a Master of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and a PhD in New Testament Studies from the University of St. Andrews. His research interests include Jewish exegetical practices, ancient messianism and early Christology, and early Jewish and Christian sacrificial theologies.
