Remembering for the Future

“Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past.” -Deuteronomy 32:7a

“And let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us.” -Hebrews 12:1b

A new initiative to both preserve the EUB heritage and to interpret and teach it to students, researchers, and the wider church, so that the Church will experience renewed faith and deeper commitment to God’s mission in the name and Spirit of Jesus Christ.

What does the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Heritage mean to you?

Is it the power of practices of personal piety or humble servant leadership? The commitment to living out one’s faith with attention to biblical ethics and social justice? Is it the affirmation of women in ministry the United Brethren exhibited? The commitment to missions such as Red Bird founded by the Evangelicals? The rejection of slavery and racism insisted upon by the EUBs and their predecessor bodies? Even more importantly, how might embracing this heritage help shape the church today?

We are excited to announce the launch of the Remembering for the Future campaign to add $2 million to the endowment for the Center for EUB Heritage.

EUB Heritage Keepers

Established in 1979, the Center for EUB Heritage celebrates and preserves the story of the EUB Church and its forebearers. Central to this work is remembering and sharing the stories of people deeply influenced by the EUB tradition, or EUB Heritage Keepers.

Do you have an EUB Heritage Keeper you’d like to honor? Any donor or group who commits $50,000 or more to the Remembering for the Future campaign over the next 3 years and/or through an estate commitment can select someone to honor. The Center will work with the donor to create a video in honor or memory of the person, church or even organization the donor selects. As more gifts are made at this level, new EUB Heritage Keeper videos will be added to this page.
