How has United prepared you to go out and minister to the world?
I can proudly say that United has prepared me for ministry. The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program has helped me grow as a pastor, husband, and community leader. My preaching, interactions with community leaders, and my relationship with my spouse have all improved through my research, the intensive weeks, and our focus group meetings. Each semester, I have made an effort to apply at least one insight I gained from these discussions in my ministry context. Every time I have done this, it has been successful and fruitful. This success not only validates the program's potential but also promises a bright future, leading me to develop into a doctor of the Church.
Where have you seen God at work during your time at United?
I see God's presence at United through its leadership and faculty. Everyone is dedicated to developing ministry leaders who can impact the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While I can only speak about the Doctor of Ministry program, I am extremely grateful for my mentors and my faculty consultant who have guided me with their wisdom and care. What stands out to me about United is that everyone, including these mentors, genuinely cares about my success in completing my program and being fruitful in my ministry.
What would you say to someone considering seminary at United?
If you are a prospective student considering United, I want to emphasize that your journey here will be one of discovery. The entire United community is committed to helping you reach the potential God has placed within you. Don't be afraid to stretch and grow; United is here to support you in becoming everything God has called you to be. When you walk across the stage, you'll be amazed at the new gifts you have discovered within yourself.
