Did you know that the average seminary student graduates with $60,000 in debt? With the majority of United alumni/ae serving in ministry and as pastors, few will be able to pay off their student loans anytime soon. That is why United is focusing on raising money for student scholarships.
This year we took a step back to re-evaluate our fundraising efforts and make sure we are being the best stewards of time and resources to support God’s work at United and provide scholarships for students preparing for ministry.
United’s annual scholarship dinner has been a fun event, but it barely breaks even. This year, to get more dollars to scholarships and the students who need them most, we invited individuals and companies to sponsor students, not just a dinner.
