Dr. Marvin McMickle
United Theological Seminary will hold its 15th annual Summer Preaching Seminar from Aug. 16 to Aug. 18, 2016, hosted on United’s campus at 4501 Denlinger Rd., Dayton, Ohio. During this special three-day preaching seminar, guest speaker Rev. Dr. Marvin A. McMickle, president of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, will guide participants through a rich experience in homiletics centered on the theme “Be My Witness: A Theology of Preaching for the 21st Century.”
Based on Acts 1:6-8, in which Jesus tells his disciples, “Be my witnesses,” this year’s Summer Preaching Seminar will challenge 21st century leaders to think about the content and context of their sermons through the lens of 1st century discipleship.
Rev. Dr. McMickle is the author of numerous books on preaching and a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Following a career of pastoral, academic and public service, Rev. Dr. McMickle was elected president of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in 2011.
