At the LINKS (Lasting Intimacy through Nurturing Knowledge and Skills) Marriage Retreat certified instructors will walk you through five sessions:
1. Relentlessly pursuing intimacy;
2. Respectfully cultivating trust;
3. Reciprocally meeting needs;
4. Resiliently charting your course;
5. Romantically renewing your union.
Scriptural support and Biblical truths will be incorporated throughout the session. Our certified leaders for the weekend are Rev. Marty and Veronica McMichael. Pastor Marty and Veronica are native New Yorkers who began ministry more than 24 years ago in NY. They have provided marriage and relationship training to more than 200 couples over the past decade and have worked in ministry as Youth Pastors, Ministry Coordinator, Associate Pastors and Sr. Pastors.
Pastor Marty obtained a B.A. in Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice while in New York. He later completed an M.S. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology at Walden University in 2008 and an MDiv at United Theological Seminary in 2016. He is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church.
Pastor Veronica has completed her B.S. in Organizational Management at Wright State University and will have obtained her MDiv from United Theological Seminary in 2018. She is a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church.
Both serve at Sulphur Grove UMC and have five children. They met in New York City more than 25 years ago and have had mirrored careers; working together often at the same agency or as self-employed entrepreneurs providing coaching, counseling, training and organizational development.
