Commencement Speaker:
Bishop Sir Walter Lee Mack Jr. is pastor of Union Baptist Church, in Winston Salem, NC, where he provides spiritual guidance and leadership to a congregation of over 4,000. As Metropolitan Bishop with Global United Fellowship, Bishop Mack provides leadership to the South Eastern and Coastal Atlantic Provinces.
Formally educated at Elon College in Elon, NC (Bachelor of Arts-Mass Communication), Duke University in Durham, NC (Master of Divinity) and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio (Doctor of Ministry), Bishop Mack is devoted to lifelong education and advancement. At Harvard University he completed a continuing education program focused on economic development and community revitalization, through which he was both a pupil and invited guest preacher. He has also been a guest lecturer and round table participant at Oxford University in Oxford, England, focusing on the role of religion and education in the government. Bishop Mack currently serves students as an academic advisor and theological mentor through the Doctor of Ministry program at United Theological Seminary, where he leads a focus group on developing leadership for effective programming ministry in the Post-Modern Era.
Bishop Mack is married to Lady Kim Romaine Bush. He is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and is the son of Mrs. Frances Mack and the late Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Sr.
