Dr. Kent Millard served as a local church pastor for 44 years before becoming President of United Theological Seminary in February 2016. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, his Master of Divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology and his Doctor of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Millard has served all sizes of congregations during his pastoral career. He began as the pastoral leader for a small-town congregation with 100 people in worship and retired from a congregation with 3,000 in worship in ten different services across three different locations.
Out of his experience, Dr. Millard has authored books on stewardship (The Gratitude Path), church leadership (Lead Like Butler, co-authored with Judith Cebula) and church renewal (The Passion Driven Congregation, co-authored with Dr. Carver McGriff).
Participants are encouraged to read his book on leadership (Lead Like Butler) and stewardship (The Gratitude Path) prior to the workshop, both of which are available through Cokesbury or on Amazon.com.
Through this one-day workshop, local church leaders will gain practical leadership and stewardship tools for leading congregations to become faithful and fruitful Christian communities, who makes disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
