The Hispanic Christian Academy (HCA), part of United's Center for Hispanic Ministry, is a lay ministry school that exists to connect Hispanic first, second and third generations with God, one another and the lost.

The goal of this online program is to impact the local church through equipping and training leaders to serve as local pastors, associate pastors, church planters, evangelists, missioners and other roles of ministry. The basic three year, bilingual course curriculum includes: Bible, Theology, Church and Mission, and Ministry.

HCA intends to:

  • Educate church leaders in foundational knowledge and practical training for ministry.

  • Equip and train leaders to manage and use appropriately and productively the Word of God, whether in preaching, teaching, ministering or counseling.

  • Encourage personal spiritual growth of leaders to mature in Christ.

  • Train leaders to equip and train others so that they perform the service of the ministry.

  • Encourage leaders to high standards of integrity.

In February 2013, United signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Global Empowerment Ministries to launch the academy. The online program began in February with more than 20 students. For more information about the signing, please visit: United Launches Hispanic Christian Academy.
