United Theological Seminary offers a number of options online. If you are interested in a degree or certification program, if you are short a couple of classes to complete your degree, or even if you just want to take an online course for fun, United has what you need.
If you are interested in a degree program, please be aware that you will need to complete some requirements in a face-to-face format.
It is now possible to get a Master of Divinity degree from United without moving to Dayton, Ohio. United’s online/hybrid program allows you to complete your Master of Divinity degree in three years with just a minimum of two weeks per year at our Dayton campus. We have shaped this program to include more than 30 credit hours of on-site instruction to provide our students with the highest quality of learning styles. Our online/hybrid programs offer the same quality education as our residential programs.
United is now offering an online Master of Arts in Christian Ministries degree that can be completed in two years. This degree is designed for persons who are:
Seeking ordination in a denomination that requires a 45-semester hour seminary degree
Preparing for the work of Deacon in the United Methodist Church
Seeking to supplement existing professional specialties with theological studies
Serving the church as laypersons with specific competencies
Fully accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
World-class faculty who remain on the leading edge of their disciplines.
We are committed to the historic Christian faith, instilling a passion for what it means to love God and neighbour, and renewing the church for its mission in the world.
Our 78-hour degree program is tightly structured to equip our students for ministry without keeping them in school longer than is necessary.
United’s costs are among the most reasonable. We work hard to provide students with necessary scholarship dollars.
