• Certification Criteria

  To become eligible for certification by the Pohly Center, an individual must complete the following process in any order.
  
  Complete two Pohly Center courses: “Principles and Practice of Supervision” and “Theological Reflection in Supervisory Practice.”
  
  Complete a minimum of 100 hours of supervisory experience approved by the Pohly Center staff.
  
  Participate in a minimum of 50 hours of peer supervision and 25 hours of individual supervision.
  
  Currently invested in a supervisory relationship with at least one supervisee.
  
  Engage in supervision for her/himself.
  
  Complete a satisfactory interview with the Pohly Center Advisory Board.
  
  Receive a favorable evaluation from supervisors, peers, and Pohly Center staff.
  
  Express in practice the attitudes, qualities, and skills of an effective supervisor based upon 48 criteria of excellence.

• Certification Fee Structure

  Application Fee
  Fee: $150
  
  Course: Principles and Practice of Supervision
  If the applicant wishes to receive academic credit, the fee will be the seminary’s current tuition charge for 3 semester hours.
  Fee: $300
  
  Course: Theological Reflection in Supervisory Practice
  If the applicant wishes to receive academic credit, the fee will be the seminary’s current tuition charge for 3 semester hours.
  Fee: $300
  
  Peer Supervision (50 hours)
  Up to one-half the peer supervision can be negotiated outside the Pohly Center, subject to Pohly Center approval.
  Fee: $1,250
  
  Individual Supervision (25 hours)
  Fee: $1,250
  
  Total Fees: $3,250
  
  Upon completion of the certification process, enrollees will receive a certificate and their accomplishment will be recognized and celebrated within the context of a worship service at United, and through notice in appropriate seminary publications.
